VVVVVV Nintendo Switch Review

Classic games have a special place in many people’s hearts. VVVVVV calls back to those days with the simplistic art and game mechanics. In VVVVVV you have the ability to invert gravity with the touch of a button. Even though the controls are super simplistic, the game is definitely not. You will find yourself being frustrated over and over again.

You are tasked with traversing the map to avoid spikes and other dangers to get to other rooms to find trinkets. The game is quite pure, with an easy objective in mind. The visuals are one thing that I actually quite like. The art is so simple, it really feels like I picked up a retro console and started playing.

Overall, VVVVVV is brutally challenging with the fantastic level design. There are plenty of zones to invert gravity in and it really keeps things fresh, and at least there are checkpoints to give you a little bit of relief. The art style can be a turn off for some people, but I actually find it attractive.
