What is Piczle Lines DX?

Piczle Lines DX is a Nintendo Switch eShop title that was first a smartphone game. Piczle Lines DX is exactly the same as the full smartphone game but has future free updates. The goal of the game is to match dots of same color and number together by drawing a line between them at the same length of the digits on the dots.

What makes Piczle Lines DX so great?

I thoroughly enjoyed Piczle Lines DX. I found it to be a sudoku type game experience. If you like puzzle games that you can relax to, this is great for you. If you have played picross on the 3ds, this is a lot like it. Each puzzle ends up being a pixel (or piczle) image.

What makes Piczle Lines DX NOT so great?

The price. For it to be a smartphone port, I do like that it is on the Switch, but it is a steep price for what the game is. The game is listed for $14.99, but I would say it is worth at most $8?

My Conclusion

So what do I conclude. If you are a fan of casual puzzle games, this is honestly a great one. I honestly really enjoy it and score it well. The art is pleasing, the game environment is nice, but the price is steep. Even though the extra updates on smartphone’s will cost as in game purchases, atleast the updates will be free for the Switch. That will help with the steep upfront cost if you find yourself picking it up a lot. I can see myself finishing all the puzzles, because on my Switch, I tend to hop on it to get a quick fix of gaming and this fills that fix really quickly.

  • Fun puzzles
  • Fun, Light art
  • Free updates
  • Quick fix mentality

  • Steep upfront price
