What is League Of Evil?

League Of Evil is another smartphone port to the Nintendo Switch. It is a puzzle type platformer where your secret agent character has to get from point A to point B without dying along the way. The goal is to destroy the “League Of Evil” scientists by punching their heads clean off to clear a level (It’s quite satisfying). In this new version you get new features such as new exclusive levels and a level editor, that will allow players to create and share their own levels.

What makes League Of Evil so great?

League Of Evil is a great puzzle platformer. It also fits well on the Switch. The puzzles are challenging enough and the sprite art style is good. It is very fast paced and rage inducing at times. You can also create your own levels which is a nice addition to the game. So when you are bored of suffering through puzzles, make your own miserable puzzles for someone else to suffer in! Overall, it is a good game to burn some time when you are taking a break from a 4 hour Breath of the Wild session.

What makes League Of Evil NOT so great?

At times, League Of Evil’s controls felt kind of “sticky”. If you watch the gameplay I recorded below (shameless plug), you can see me hitting the walls a lot. I felt like the controls had me “sticking” to the walls a lot. That could have been just me, but I found it kind of distracting. There also isn’t much to the game. Yes, there are a lot of puzzles, a lot. But it can all get a little repetitive at times.

My Conclusion

  • Fun puzzles
  • Retro Style
  • Level Editior
  • Quick fix mentality

  • Controls feel weird at times
  • Can get repetitive

Score: 7/10
